Improve the look of your skin with innovative dermatology treatments in the Rockville, Maryland area

Dr Ronald B. Prussick, Washington Dermatology Center Providing Dermatology Treatment In Rockville

One of the first things we notice in others, and in ourselves, is the complexion of the skin. Understandably, we want to feel good about the appearance of our skin. Dr. Prussick is an experienced dermatologist who has helped many men and women restore healthy tone and texture with specific dermatology treatments. Using the microneedling device device in our Rockville or Frederick office, we can address a number of concerns gently and effectively.

microneedling device can treat:

  • Large pores
  • Wounds and scars
  • Sun damage
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Uneven texture

Innovative treatment for excellent results

Microneedling device treatments apply a special technique through which the skin is enhanced without invasive surgical procedures. Essentially, microneedling device is fractional micro needling, a treatment that opens up hundreds of tiny areas of the skin, encouraging the production of collagen and elastin. As these substances increase, the skin naturally rejuvenates over time.

Different problems linked by a single thread

Scars from acne, burns, or incisions have something in common with stretch marks and wrinkles, and that is collagen. This substance promotes youthful, plump skin. As we age and experience sun damage, collagen is lost, and the skin looks looser and older. Microneedling device, by encouraging collagen quickly, provides both immediate and progressive results that can last several months with good sun protection.

Before microneedling device, micro-needling skin treatments were delivered via dermal rollers. This original treatment tended to be more uncomfortable and more risky, with the potential to create “trenches” of damage in the epidermis. Microneedling device features an automated vertical stamping technique that is highly effective, far more comfortable, and safer than dermal roller treatments. To improve comfort, a topical numbing cream can be applied before treatment.

Steps to successful treatment

In our office, microneedling device may be recommended as an inclusion in an anti-aging skin care plan, or for the treatment of scars or stretch marks. During your consultation with Dr. Prussick or one of his experienced staff, the details of treatment are fully explained, and we are happy to answer any questions you may have. Information for pre- and post-treatment activities will also be supplied. This may include:

Pre-treatment

  • Avoid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication and aspirin for the ten days prior to treatment.
  • Avoid fish oil supplements for the ten days prior to treatment.
  • Do not use retinoid products in the 12 hours before treatment.
  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure the day before treatment.
